Tucked away in the heart of a picturesque hamlet in the Brionnais region of Lower Burgundy,this 18th century former weavers house overlooking a lovely kitchen garden and a lake can accommodate 6 people.
The house has been built on a mediaeval rampart and as well as its charming period details-including a romantic balcony and a large terrace for al fresco meals-it also boasts modern facilities.

Beautifully restored and equipped with a cosy kitchen and eating area,a shower room and low ceilinged attic bedrooms with ancient, exposed beams, the house is located amidst rolling green hills and is ideal for walks, cycling and fishing and for visiting Roman churches and Chateaux.

Also nearby are Cluny,Macon,Taize,Solutre,Dijon,Lyon and the famous Beaujolais region.At the nearest town of La Clayette one finds a moated castle overlooking a lake, a vintage car museum,a bustling Tuesday morning market and a wide selection of shops,artisans and the leading Chocolatier de France,Dufour.Fresh produce can also be bought from local farms.
The property is run by the owners who follow a rule of life based on that of Franciscan Christianity and live in a separate building in the village.You are welcome to join in the prayer times spaced at regular intervals during the day.Prayers are conducted in the living quarters of the owners whilst the Chapel is being prepared.

They aim to be a basic Christian witness in a very rural setting in this beautiful canton.

Burgundy

The name has always conjured up an image of richness. Maybe it comes from the association with colour. That deep rich red that is unmistakably Burgundy. Obviously, it is the wine that gives us the colour and, perhaps, this added to the `rich' feeling I had of Burgundy. .. heavy, dark, even a little mysterious. But, whatever the colour (and the wine), the reason is that the region of Burgundy is, probably, better known, by name at least, than any other part of France.
