OLIVEMEDE RESIDENTIAL HOME - THE ROOMS

Olivemede was originally a Local Authority Home, which was purchased by Oak House Homecare Ltd in 1999. Following a major refurbishment programme the home can now offer spacious accommodation in single bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities.

Fourteen bedrooms are on the ground floor; nineteen are first floor serviced by a lift. Each floor has its own kitchen, laundry, sluice, shower room and lounge/diner, and is best described as two separate “home from home” units within the same building.

Call bells are located in all rooms around the home in case a service user needs assistance.

Olivemede has one lounge/diner; two lounges, two dining rooms and visitors quiet room. Residents are encouraged to use these public rooms and may do so whenever they wish.

There is a bathroom with a hoist for assisted bathing and three separate shower rooms, two laundry rooms, two sluice rooms and a drug storage/nurses room.

The Manager and Administrators office is situated at the entrance of the building for immediate contact or assistance. A hairdresser’s room is situated on the ground floor of the building, and is in use two days per week.

Pine wooden furniture suites are provided in the bedrooms, consisting of a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet, however residents may bring in furniture after full inspection to the safety by Olivemede. Residents are more than welcome to bring in their own personal items for their room if they so wish.

The company employs its own maintenance team to ensure that the rooms remain decorated to a high standard.
